The governing party, the NPP is set to hold an Extraordinary Constituency Delegates Conference in the Anlo Constituency on Sunday, 6th September, 2020. This is to elect a Parliamentary Candidate to represent the party in the forthcoming general election.
It would be recalled that the earlier arrangement was postponed due to some corruption allegations raised by the NPP’s Volta Regional Chairman against one of the candidates, Hon. Seth Yormewu, the DCE of Anloga District. It was alleged that the DCE embezzled funds allocated for the construction of Anloga Town Hall and also diverted funds meant for some developmental projects in Anloga District and Keta Municipality respectively.
The race is said to be a close contest between, the DCE for Anloga District, Hon. Seth Yormewu and Dr. Yayra Dzakadzie, a lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba.
However, sources close to rymcitigh.com confirms that the exercise could be an acclamation as one of the candidates, Dr. Yayra Dzakadzie is rumoured to have pulled out of the race.
The party being aware of its poor performance in the constituency since the democratic era kicked off is putting everything in place to better its fortunes in the 2020 December polls.
