Residents of Bakpo, a town located near Sogakope, Volta Region, Ghana woke up to a sad news on Friday, 25th December, 2020.
The victim, identified as Emefa Asase was reported missing on 24th December, 2020 by her auntie, Beauty Asase, at the Sogakope District Police Office in the company of one Christian Havor, a Unit Committee Chairperson of Bakpo.
According to a detailed police report sighted by rymcitigh.com, the 18-year-old victim left home unceremoniously on 24th December, 2020 at 5am and did not returned until she was found lying dead in a cassava farm the following day.
Sources also confirmed that some community members saw the blood stained slippers of the deceased in a bush near the Bakpo Community. All efforts to find her proved futile, hence the lodging of the report at the police station.
The police team rushed to the scene and found the deceased buried in a supine position in a shallow grave about two feet deep and partly covered with sand and cassava leaves.
The body has since been exhumed and thoroughly inspected by the police pending autopsy. Thereafter, it was deposited at the Sogakope District Morgue for preservation.
