Bright Makafui, a leading young face in the contemporary writing and authoring space hails from Woe, a serene coastal town located in the Anloga District, Volta Region, Ghana. His love for what has become the mainstay of his identity today has not been achieved on a silver platter.
The prolific writer, motivational speaker, preacher and transformational coach has always been at the forefront making incursions. His creative style and awareness to see society and by extension, the youth, excel in whatever way genuine is the driving force behind the unquenchable desire to inspire.
As young as he is, Bright, in less than two (2) years, has written over twenty (20) books, including the bestselling, “Live Your Dream” which earned him nomination as the Young Influential Author in Ghana, at the Ghana Association of Writers (GAW) Literary Awards 2018. In 2019, his books, ‘I Dare You’ and ‘Inspirational Master Pills’ were nominated in the category of Non-Fiction (Motivational books in Ghana).
He is also an Amazon author with global readership influence and mileage. His books are sold in about fifteen West African countries, five European countries and six States in America. Without a doubt, Bright’s presence has been felt in his chosen field. He is an entrepreneur, founder and the president of Dream Africa Network and Macbryt Publications – an NGO and a publishing firm. He also doubles as the official publisher for Lawyer Francis-Xavier Sosu, MP for Madina Constituency.
Aside his numerous achievements in the writing space, he is a well-lettered personality. He has obtained Bachelor of Commerce (BCOM) – Accounting Degree from University of Cape Coast, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Part II, Institute of Chartered Certified Accountants Gh (ICAG) Part II, certificate in Leadership, Business and Entrepreneurship from GIMPA and currently an MBA (Finance) student at the University of Cape Coast.
When the team at rymcitigh.com scooped on him for a chat, the natural orator disclosed that he always believes in the potential of Africa, hence, championing the course of the African youth is so dear to his heart. This, he revealed, has led him to mentor many youth who have come under his tutelage.
On how the journey all began, the old student of Anlo Awomefia Senior High School (ANYASCO) narrated his fond memories. He revealed the breakthrough was when he participated in Citi FM’s National Essay Competition for Senior High Schools in 2008. According to him, his first poem “Food for Thought” was published in the school’s magazine. Since then, he has never looked back on his found love. His unique ability to inspire people to move beyond mediocrity and embrace excellence and wholeness in their lives cannot also be overlooked.
It is his hope that more attention would be paid to literacy programmes at the lower education levels so as to raise the next generation to grow and appreciate reading.
