The Anlo Dukor Council has responded to concerns circulating on social media and other relevant platforms about the selection of Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra, for the much-talked about Hogbe 2024 Fundraising Dinner and Awards Nights.

“Our attention has been drawn to some concerns and complaints on social media and other platforms about the choice of Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra, for the upcoming fundraising dinner and awards event scheduled for October 19, 2024, in support of the Awoamefia Palace project”.

According to the release sighted by the Rymcitigh News Team, the decision to hold the fundraising dinner in Accra and not within the Anlo enclave was taken by the Anlo Youth Council; a group mandated to solicit for donations. The Anlo Traditional Council had no hand in the selection of the venue.

The release also went on to disclose that most prominent Anlos and potential donors billed to attend the function, reside in the Ghanaian capital, Accra. In essence, accessibility was hugely considered.

“The decision to hold this important event in Accra is simply based on the fact that many prominent Anlos and potential donors reside in the Ghanaian capital and hosting the dinner in Accra makes it easier for these benefactors to attend the event”.

It was further revealed that in order to relieve pressure on the Anlos and donors who would be part of both the dinner and the main Hogbetsotso Za a forthright later, their welfare was highly considered. The participation of the potential donors as critical in the fundraising efforts was highlighted as well.

“This should also ensure that we secure the maximum and engagement of these potential donors who are critical to the success of our fundraising efforts. Many Anlos and donors based in Accra might also have a challenge travelling to Anloland for a 19th October fundraiser and having to travel back two weeks later for the main Hogbe celebrations”.

A disclosure was made that there is no available space big enough to host over five hundred (500) guests that are expected for the fundraiser. Notwithstanding, other preparations with regard to the use of the hospitality industry within the enclave have not changed.

An appeal was finally made to all Anlos, friends of the State and partners, to support the event by purchasing tickets and attending.
