Popular media practitioner and Ghana’s modern-day DJ, known in real life as Mawuli Fiagbe, storms the 2025 Hogbetsotso Za with a rave christened “SoundsOfKobo”.
This year’s edition which headlines some of the biggest and most entertaining performers from the region and beyond, is scheduled to take place from 31st October – 3rd November, 2025.
The producer cum DJ from the Media General Group over the years, has carved a niche for himself after his breakthrough unto the scene. He disclosed to our news team that it has always been his desire to do something big that adds to the tourism industry back home. He makes the case that the time is right for him now to use music as a tool to bring his people together.
He also disclosed that teaming up with great arts such as JJ Gonami, Morgan Nero and MC Nana King, will in no doubt entertain the masses during the festival period. Other DJs and hype men will be on deck to offer their support. The venues to watch during the festival are: Happy Corner Restaurant, Woe, Reddington Challets, Whuti, Ashiata Ocean View, Tegbi and Club 3T located at Keta.
This year’s Hogbetsotso Za is on the theme “Building Bridges from Common History to a Common Destiny”. After a successful launch some months ago at Ohawu, various activities had already taken place paving way for the major highlights this week.
Hogbetsotso Za is celebrated by the Anlos, who trace their common ancestry to Notsie. In all, there are thirty-six (36) states of Anlo.
The grand durbar of the festival is on 1st November, 2025. It is under the distinguished tutelage of the Awoamefia of Anlo Dukor, Togbi Sri III.
