The Volta Region is on track to deliver the first fully completed road project under the Big Push with several works already well advanced.

This was disclosed by the Roads and Highways Minister Hon. Kwame Agbodza during President Mahama’s inspection of some road projects in the Volta Region as part of his Resetting Ghana tour.
The rehabilitation of the Penyi–Denu Road is 75.68% complete, and the rehabilitation of Kpetoe–Ave Afiadenyigba (Lot 7) is 45% complete.
President John Dramani Mahama noted that about 2,500 km of roads are currently under construction nationwide under the Big Push programme.
He expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and commended contractors for being ahead of schedule on several projects.
He noted that the government allocated more than GH¢13 billion in the programme’s initial phase and a further GH¢30.8 billion this year, bringing total commitments to over GH¢40 billion.
