The Volta Regional Minister, Dr A. Y. Letsa has cut sod for the construction of 142 shops and ancillary facilities at the Ho Central Market. He was ably helped by the the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive of Ho, Mr. Prosper Pi-Bansah in performing the task.
The project which is part of the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme, a World Bank support programme is expected to be completed in March 2021. 25 Municipal Assemblies in the country have been carefully selected to benefit from this programme. He placed much importance on the project as it would help in contributing to the plans to modernize the Ho Central Market.
The Volta Regional Minister also used the opportunity to call on the market women to appreciate the efforts of the Nana Addo led government as the transformation of the market is always his priority. According to him, President Akufo-Addo has at heart plans to transform the market within the next four years.
He further entreated citizens of the region to help maintain the peace that has always reigned in the region. He also called on them to report those trying to create insecurity situations in the region to the appropriate security agencies for swift actions to be carried out.
