The Member of Parliament for Ketu North has expressed concern over how the Ghana Education Service (GES) is handling some critical issues in the sector.
In a Facebook post, he stated categorically that the actions of the GES risk creating avoidable disaffection for the ruling government. Expressing frustration over how teacher recruitment and promotion issues have been handled, he warned that such missteps could erode public confidence in the NDC government.
“The GES is increasingly becoming a source of avoidable disaffection for our government. From the handling of teacher recruitments to issues of teacher’s promotion and others. We must not do things that erode the confidence people have in our government.”- the lawmaker wrote
The legislator cautioned government institutions against becoming the reason the administration loses the trust of the very people it serves. He called for accountability, clarity and transparency, emphasizing that administrative actions directly affect government credibility.
His comments follow a rejoinder issued by the GES concerning a reported partnership between the National Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (NCPTA) and Prospectus Ghana Limited to distribute products across approximately 200 schools.
He urged the GES to publish the full MoU to clear the air and ensure complete public transparency.
