Goals are not achieved in obscurity but the sheerness to succeed no matter the length of sacrifices really defines our personality. In our corner today is a talent who had the track under his feet in his time. He is now a coach and a mentor.

Elorm Amenakpor aka Razor, the revered sprint king, is a native of Dzelukofe, a popular suburb of Keta in the Volta Region of Ghana.

The Keta Schools and Colleges 100m records holder has never looked back on achieving desirable goals in this chosen field. He boasts of rich achievements as far as sprinting is concerned and has represented Ghana in the World  University Games in Shenzhen, China  in 2011,  Kazan, Russia in 2013 and Gwangju, South Korea  in 2015.

After some stints with coaching at the University of Education, Winneba, Elorm moved on. He was appointed a Senior Sports Coach at the University of Ghana in January 2018 and since then, a lot of successes have been chalked. Under his tutelage, the University of Ghana team at Cairo Egypt in the Africa Universities Olympic won Gold in the 100m and 4x100m. His 4x400m teams also won silver medal.

Elorm was also very instrumental in the nurturing of Ghana’s rising athlete, Azamati Benjamin who was part of the Ghana’s 4x100m team that won gold in the African Games in Rabat Morocco.  He also won the Ghana Fatest Human and the Burkina Faso grand prix in 2019.

His stint with the Ghana National Team as a coach saw the team winning five gold medals ,four silver medals and two bronze medals in Niamey, Niger.

On what really defines him, the former athlete of Anlo SHS and University of Education, Winneba opened up to rymcitigh.com that he is an enthusiastic and a duty-bound individual with a proven expertise in motivating youth to achieve goals. In terms of prioritizing, unearthing Track & Field talents, nurturing and developing talents, he is always ready to give back to the society.

It is his hope that the much needed investment in sports, especially in athletics is done in order to give life to the individual talents that are wasting away. He also tasked parents to be supportive of their wards who are endowed in the field of sports.

To crown the year on a high note, Elorm has been adjudged the Sport Personality at the 2020 Volta Youth Awards.

There is no doubt that success has a bigger sight. Ride on to greatness coach!
