Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled, Volta Regional Branch, elects new executives- READ!

Society of the Physically Disabled which is a member of the Ghana Federation of Disability Organization held its elections to elect new executives for the Volta Regional Branch on 28th August, 2021. There were representatives from the various districts to take part in this process.

The Elections Committee, duly constituted in line with its constitution, chaired by Mr. Elolo Agyei, spearheaded the whole process. For a start, he spelt out clearly the processes and procedures in place to facilitate credible elections. He further encouraged all present to ensure that everything was free and fair.

At the end of the polls which was successfully conducted in an atmosphere of fairness, new executives emerged to take over the mantle of leadership of the society for the next four years. Here is a list of the new executives and their respective portfolios.

Volta Regional Executives

 Chairperson- Mr.Jokeman Dzotefe

Vice Chairperson- Madam Angelica Wemegah 

Secretary- Mr. Amanatey Dusi

Financial Secretary-Mr. Emmanuel Ahiabu 

PRO- Mr. Godwin Atitso

GSPD Volta Regional Wings 

Women’s Wing

Chairperson – Madam Cherita Kudoda

Vice Chairperson – Madam Peace Amegbor

Secretary- Madam Veronica Gladza 

Sport Wing

Chairperson -Mr. Saviour Azameti

Youth Wing

Chairperson- Mr. Christopher Worwui 

The Chairperson of Elections, Mr. Elolo Agyei who doubles as the Volta Regional President of the Ghana Federation of Disability Organization(GFD) swore in the executives and charged them to conduct themselves in a manner that would help achieve the aims and objectives of the society. 

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairperson, Mr. Jokeman Dzotefe, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues thanked the members present for reposing such an amount of confidence in them. He assured the participants that the society is in safe hands and that they would never disappoint. 

The outgoing Chairperson, Mr. Carl K. Tetteh congratulated the newly elected executives and encouraged them to work diligently in a coordinated manner to ensure smooth administration. He also tasked members to offer their unwavering support to the executives in the discharge of their core duties. He further pleaded with them to study and understand the Ghana Disability Act 715, 2006 and the UNCRPD. 

GSPD is an organization of persons with physical disabilities. It has branches in all regions and districts across the length and breadth of the country.
