Macbryt Publications and Associate Kickstart Literacy Tour in Senior High Schools- DETAILS

The Macbryt Publications, together with Madam Mary Bodomo, a renowned author, educationist and lecturer from the University of Vienna, Austria, kickstarted a project dubbed “LITERACY TOUR” on Reading and Writing. 

The project which was held on 1st December, 2023, with a highly successful books event in the Volta Region of Ghana, precisely at A.A.FIA Senior High School, Anyako, was well patronized. It has been described as the panacea to addressing the literacy challenges in the educational sector, especially at the senior high school level. 

In all, (Being Youthful & Useful and Infinite Roots) worth Five Thousand Six Hundred Ghana Cedis (GHC 5,600) was spent in stocking the school’s library. The seminar also introduced the students to creative writing and the act of public speaking. Participants also had the opportunity to bring their oral reading skills to bear. 

Speaking to the rymcitigh team, the Macbryt Publications Boss, disclosed that the goal is to donate Five Thousand (5, 000) books to schools in Ghana, especially schools in the rural communities. He went on to reveal that they are also open to organising book activities and to showcase their tailor-made invigorating Book Battles Competition across the nation. Interested schools are to reach out to the team for more information. 

Finally, he appreciated the generous donors for making the project possible. He called for more support in expanding the scope and printing more books for the consumption of students across the length and breadth of the country. 

Some students spoken to after the programme were really excited for the opportunity to experience everything first hand. They expressed gratitude to the organizers for the initiative. 

“For me, knowing very well what I want to become in future, I think this is just the right experience that I needed. It was educative and fun. I am forever going to cherish this wonderful moment shared with us. We need mentorship to thrive as teenagers”- one excited student revealed.
