Profiling ZyGee, the wine that will always get finer!

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The race to follow the successes achieved by music forebears from the Volta Region has led to the discovery of buzzing talents and one of such prodigies who hails from Anloga, is Martin Ocloo known in showbiz circus as ZyGee. He was born on 13th September, 1991.

He is a Hip Hop/Afro-beats musician whose versatility is undoubtedly one to be excited about.

ZyGee carefully selects his lyrics from the language of his origin(Ewe) to create themes that touch the hearts of his fan base. Creativity wise, he is as good a refined wine. He is able to blend the Ewe with Twi and Pidgin that add so much bite to his style. He does this with fluidity and utmost perfection.

He has survived as an underground musician for so long but his debut EP christened “Nawoanya” brought true definition to his identity and he has since etched his name amongst the fast and rising music talents. It is not surprising that his name is always on the lips of both the young and old in the region.

Due to the hard work and dedication that he always puts in his work, he was nominated in the Discovery of the Year category at the 2018 maiden edition of the Volta Music Awards, an award that he won with ease.

Projects such as Adukonu, Eme nenyo, Elavanyo, Journey to Anloga, Eyes on you, Boys Kasa, Clap, Habada,  Save me, Eno Easy, Error, Wo Deka, Money Makes a Man, Bile, Poor No Friend and the latest release Hustle are all works attributed to him.

On his featuring list, there is the rockstar, Kwame Eugene and Cano Z of MTN Hitmaker fame.

The sky should not only be the limit but a stepping stone. The verve to succeed is a must. Ride on ZyGee.
