After months of despair necessitated by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, all final year students across the length and breadth of the country are set for what determines their academic progression as they sit for their WASSCE starting Monday, 3rd August, 2020 to 5th September, 2020.
A total of 313,837 students, are sitting for this year’s exams. They have had a total of six(6) weeks for revision before sitting for the WASSCE after a destruction to the earlier arrangement caused by the exigency.
The government after a broad stakeholders consultation came out with guidelines to help curb the spread of the virus in the schools. Though, there were calls for the schools to be closed after some schools recorded Covid-19 cases, the government remained resolute and rather called for calm.
Random checks conducted by rymcitigh indicates that the students are in high spirit ahead of the commencement of the exams.
According to them, it is their wish to continue their education and they would not want anything to truncate it. They promised to make themselves and their parents proud.
In a related development, there have been press releases from both Ghana Education Service(GES) and West African Examinations Council(WAEC) over the leakage of Integrated Science Papers 1 and 2. According to them, the papers in circulation on social media platforms are FAKE and should be disregarded.
The exams would be written over a period of four weeks.
The team at rymcitigh wishes all final years the very best of luck in their exams.
