Owing to the outpouring of frustrations on Monday, 3rd August, 2020 after first written Integrated Science Paper 1 and 2, Management of GES in a strong worded media release has expressed its reservations about the happenings.

“Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) is appalled by the scenes of videos making rounds some students who are not only demonstrating crass indiscipline but also making unfortunate comments about high profile personalities, including H.E. the President of the Republic, apparently from their frustrations over the fallout from the first written paper, Integrated Science”

Management says it is aware of some staff’s involvement in unprofessional conduct in the ongoing exams and wants to speak on authority that, school rules and regulations have not been put on hold, regardless of the times.

“Management of GES has also received reports of instances of some staff involved in unprofessional conduct. Management wishes to make it clear that school rules regulations in particular those involving conduct of examinations” the statement said.

As a form of corrective measure, students found to have misconducted themselves are to be deboardinized. Parental vigilance is needed as the students will be coming from their homes to write their exams.

On the destruction done to school properties, the statement indicates that culprits should be surcharged if found guilty. Actions deemed criminal are to be reported to the police for investigation. Directors have also been asked to submit reports to the Director-General after taking proper actions on such unfortunate conducts.

GES wishes to assure all and sundry that it will do everything within its remit to instill discipline and called on parents to help in that regard. It further states that school authorities will be backed to ensure maintenance of discipline.
