Activities towards the December polls are hitting up and political parties, especially the two main ones are coming out with well-calculated strategies to outwit each other.
It is also not rocket science that the party in power, NPP, since the democratic era started, have been performing abysmally in the Volta Region, which is the stronghold of their sworn opponents. Due to this, they have set up a 30- Member Campaign Committee tasked to plan, coordinate, and execute campaign activities in the Volta Region towards the December 7 polls. The committee has also been urged to increase the incumbent’s vote pattern in the region.
Inaugurating the committee in Ho, the party’s National Organizer, Sammy Awuku, tasked the members to move beyond their comfort zone to help deliver more Votes and seats for H.E. Nana Akufo Addo and the NPP Parliamentary Candidates in the Volta Region.
“To the team today, the task is simple. Mobilize enough votes for candidate Akufo-Addo and his Parliamentary Candidates in the various constituencies”
He also expressed optimism that the dwindling fortunes of the party in the region will change since they are determined to take their campaign message to every household and every community to help deliver victory.
“If we moved from zero in Upper West to five seats in 2016, it is possible to have more seats in the Volta Region”, Sammy Awuku stated.
Accepting the challenge thrown by the National Organizer, the NPP’s Volta Regional Chairman, Mr. Makafui Woanya, who doubles as the chairperson of the campaign committee assured the party would achieve its desired objective.
“ And I can tell you that with the right mind and approach and strategy, we would get to where we want to get to. Our agenda, our set objective would be achieved with the right approach”.
He further assured that they are in high spirit and are battle ready for the task ahead.
