Some aggrieved Assembly Members of the Keta Municipal Assembly are intiating a vote of no confidence in their MCE, Hon. Godwin Yao Effah.
A letter sighted by rymcitigh.com stated corruption and abuse of power as the main reasons for the impeachment process. About thirteen Assembly Members signed the letter which has been in circulation. The house needs a two-thirds vote to have this constitutional process carried out.
Members of the Keta community have welcomed this action because, things have not been rosy since the MCE, Hon. Godwin Yao Effah was sworn into office. According to the people, his tenure of office has been without the necessary accountability and the much touted development needed to move the Municipality forward.
Whether or not the meeting would be called as requested by the Assemblymen is another issue that the good people of Keta are waiting patiently for.
