The office of the former President, Jerry John Rawlings has informed the general public that there would be no one week celebration for the departed state man.
Also, the statement indicated that all flyers communicating the organization of such a ceremony should be disregarded.
Excerpts from a post on Facebook read “ The general public is also informed that there will be no one week celebration. All flyers and other communications announcing such a ceremony are false and should be ignored “.
Concerning the health of the former First Lady, Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyeman- Rawlings, the statement debunked rumours making rounds that she has been admitted at the hospital. She is therefore said to be well.
“The general public is informed that Mrs. Nana Konadu-Agyeman Rawlings is well and has not been admitted to any hospital”, the statement read.
Former President of the Republic, Jerry John Rawlings died on Thursday, 12th November, 2020 at the Korle- Bu Teaching Hospitable after a short illness. He is survived by a wife and four children.
