Youth activism in our part of the world has become a powerful tool. Many enthusiastic and vibrant youth who are keeping up with the times in terms of issues touching on their very survival are speaking and professing solutions.
One of such brains emerging from Apam in the Central Region of Ghana, is the affable and highly opinionated personality called Samuel Oluwafemi Baiden.
He had his basic education at Chris Kiddies/ College School in Lagos, Nigeria and soon after, decided to move back to Ghana for his secondary education. The proud student of the St. Margaret Mary High School, Dansoman-Accra began his leadership journey at a tender age and since then, has been making a lot of incursions.
After graduating from the University of Cape Coast and bagging second class honours in BEd in Social Studies, Samuel’s career was set for the apex. He was once DESAG’s Regional President and NEC Member. It was not surprising that while on national service duties, he was also elected as the President for NASPA in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District.
Under his supervision as the president, a lot of innovations as a way of giving back to the society were birthed. He led his colleagues to help in public education, blood donations, health screening and communal labour.
He is also a consummate professional who had the nurturing of the young minds at heart. Indeed, when he had the opportunity to teach English Language and other subjects at the Swedru International School, he became the toast of the learners.
In 2017, he was appointed Academic Supervisor at Osagyefo Leadership International School, Labone. A position he occupied until he resigned to pursue a post graduate degree at the University of Cape Coast in 2020.
When rymcitigh.com zoomed in on him for a chat, the young man expressed his optimism about Ghana working again. He was of the view that issues bothering on education in the country should be discussed dispassionately devoid of the usual political lens. This, he said, is the only way to improve on the system that is almost on its knees.
Currently, Samuel is contesting for the Minister of Education under the Ghana’s Youth President Show on Joy Prime television.
There is no doubt that his name has become a household one as far as in-depth analysis of issues and an overwhelming display of intellectual genuineness is concerned.
Ghana is ready for your charm, gentleman. Make Her a proud Mother, Samuel Baiden GH.
