ADACOE Floors Compatriots In Regional First Class Honours Rankings.

Ada College of Education, one of the colleges in the Greater Accra Region has come out tops in the 2020 Diploma in Basic Education First Class Honours rankings. 

According to the CoEWJ EGA Zone First Class Rankings, ADACOE obtained a total of thirty (30) 1st Class Honours for the Class of 2020. This feat was with a stern competition from Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong, who came second with 26, 1st Class Honours. 

Accra College of Education and Mount Mary College of Education came third with 24 First Class Honours each. 

Abetifi College of Education, SDA College of Education, Koforidua, Kibi Presbyterian College of Education, Methodist College of Education, Akim Oda, and Presbyterian Women College of Education, Aburi came 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th respectively. 

BRIEF HISTORY ABOUT THE SCHOOL 

Ada College of Education is a teacher education college situated at Ada-Foah, one of the coastal towns located in the Ada-East District of the Greater Accra Region, Ghana. The college is found within Eastern / Greater Accra zone. It is one of the 46 Public Colleges of Education in Ghana currently. 

The school undoubtedly has contributed immensely to the professional and academic training of teachers who are dotted across the country. This has overwhelmingly fed into the vision of becoming “a centre of excellence in the production of disciplined, resourceful and self motivated teachers always ready to offer services anywhere in Ghana”. 

Courses offered by the school includes; 

General Specialisation in Primary and Junior High School, Early Childhood Education Studies, Mathematics/Science, French, Technical & Vocational, Visually and Hearing Challenged. All these programmes are under six main Departments. 

In terms of infrastructure, the school has got the best that is available anywhere. There are ICT facilities, Science block and a Library. 

ADACOE was established in the year, 1965 by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first president.
