Society’s walk to fame in most cases is a reflection of how well duty-bound professionals conduct themselves in their chosen fields to influence lives positively. These positive work tendencies are not forced. They are naturally induced. You are welcome into the world of the 2022 Best Practising Midwife for Oti Region. She is described as the, “Nightingale Nurse”.
Madam Evelyn Adzo Adzolah, an old student of Saint Paul’s Senior High School( SPACO) and a Hohoe Midwifery Training School protégé has always been on top of her job and making life saving contributions in the health care delivery process. As a faithful servant at Krachi West Municipal Hospital, she always discharges her duties meritoriously. She is the reigning 2022 Best Clinical Midwife in Oti Region.
Evelyn, in helping nurture the next generation of quality midwives, is into classroom work as well. She works as a part-time lecturer at Krachi Nursing and Midwifery Training School. According to her, this move is the right way to go. The ever diligent medical practitioner cum lecture is also an internal examiner with the nursing regulator, Ghana National Midwifery Council (NMC). It is therefore no fluke that she won the 2022 Best Clinical Midwife award for Oti Region. She was also given a special plaque of recognition at the recently ended Nurses, Managers and Leaders Conference held at Kumasi. This was in the Clinical Excellence category.
As a midwife whose imprints are visible on the field, she has equally invested in what is giving her the identity today. She holds a Bsc in Midwifery from the prestigious Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). She has also obtained a Health Administrative Management certificate from GIMPA.
Currently, she is on the rank of Midwifery Officer and still contributing her quota towards helping deal with infant mortality issues and child birth unfortunate situations. Her work on, “Increasing Post Natal Care Coverage within 48hours at the Krachi West Municipal Hospital” is envisaged to lead in that regard.
She encouraged all midwives and health caregivers to attach passion to what they do at the various health facilities. Madam Evelyn noted that even though there are some conditions militating against the work of the nurse, that should not dampen their morale at all. She charged them to brighten the corner where they are in saving and serving humanity.
We can only congratulate our wonderful midwife numero uno from Penyi, Adzolah Kɔƒe. May she continue to be there for the less privileged women and children. It is also our prayer that she leads the charge in preventing mother and child deaths during delivery.
Shine on, madam. We are really proud of your exploits. May you continue to lead by example.
