Learners in Kpedze Awlime B R.C. Primary School located in the Ho-West District of the Volta Region are in dire need of computers to fill their newly constructed ICT laboratory.
According to details, the newly constructed 6-unit classroom block which was handed over to the school last year has an ICT laboratory but has not been furnished with computers. This means that the learners would be without the necessary tools for their ICT practical lessons as school has resumed.
A visit to the community where the school is situated reveals that learners are excited about the prospects of studying in an ICT laboratory. They however expect it to be well furnished with modern computers as is the case in other schools.
“We have a new 6-unit classroom block with an ICT laboratory now. We are happy that finally, we’ll also study in a beautiful building. We want our joy to be complete. The ICT laboratory has to be filled with computers for us to touch and feel”, an excited learner revealed.
The parents of the learners who are also community members were not also left out in the excitement. They expressed gratitude to the powers that be for the new block. It is their expectation that the ICT laboratory would be stocked as soon as possible to facilitate the practical lessons of their children in the school.
“The new school building is so beautiful. Our children are happy to be studying in new classrooms. We hope the authorities see to it that the new ICT laboratory is well furnished as well. Who doesn’t want his or her children to be IT savvy?”- a parent quizzed.
In a related development, an old student of the school by name Kwame JohnBosco Snr, as a way of helping his alma mater, has written to MTN Ghana to solicit for support in aid of stocking the ICT laboratory. It is his hope that a good feedback would be received from them.
